Thank you Channel 12 and Liz Bonis

As we close in on 20 years, we thank the people and organizations that contribute to our success. Our success means that we can care for more people and positively impact more lives. Thank you to Channel 12 and Liz Bonis.

St. Francis Seraph-Ministries Volunteers

For nearly a decade, WKRC TV 12 has been our media partner. Channel 12 produces and runs public service announcements (PSAs) that educate Greater Cincinnati about who we are and what we do. In recent years, we have partnered with local celebrities from former University of Cincinnati President Santa Ono to Bengal Dre Kirkpatrick and several notable FC Cincinnati players and coaches. This year our PSA will include our CEO Laurel Nelson and one of our founders and Transformation Award honorees Dr. Bob Donovan – thus paying tribute to our 20 years.

Our long-term ally has been Channel 12’s Liz Bonis — who has featured us on her show and created news stories about us. We have also appeared on her show What’s Happening in Health. The following is a recent story about our work.

Who is Liz Bonis?

Liz Bonis is the Local 12 Health Anchor & Medical Reporter. She reports daily on breaking health headlines, cutting-edge research, and in-depth health and medical procedures and stories. Liz has been at Local 12 since 2002.

She is a registered dietitian, a certified personal trainer, and a former certified diabetes educator. Liz has a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Applied Science And Technology in Dietetics & Nutrition and a Master of Science Degree in Public Communications and Journalism in Radio/Television News from Syracuse University.

Liz does weekly local radio health reports in Cincinnati and hosts “What’s Happening in Health,” a weekly Sunday morning health news show on WKRC-TV.

Liz does volunteer work with several area organizations including the American Heart Association, Cancer Family Care, and Crossroads Community Church. She hosts continuing education programs and health seminars in the Tri-State and across the country on women’s health, wellness, weight management, diabetes care, fitness, and nutrition communications.

Additionally, Liz is on long-running emcee for the upcoming Transformation Awards that drops on September 14 at 7 pm EST and can be viewed at

Thank you to Liz and Channel 12 for believing in the work that we do and in our community. We couldn’t do it without you.
